JERRY WAYNE HIPLEY, SR., age 55, of Fallston, died at his home on October 5, 2002. Born in Baltimore, he was the son of Mary Annalee McClary Zimmerman of Havre de Grace and the late Earle Royston Hipley, Sr. He served his country in the Air Force during the Vietnam Conflict, earning several medals, including the Meritorious Service Medal twice. For 20 years he lived in Alaska where he was a breeder and trainer of dogsled teams.

In addition to his mother, Mr. Hipley is survived by two sons, Jerry Wayne Hipley, Jr. of Florida; John William Hipley of Orlando, Florida; one daughter, Lisa Marie Hipley of Baltimore; four sisters, Sharon D. Hipley of Bel Air; Joann Sliger of Whiteford, June A. Poole of Pylesville; Wendy C. Rizzo of Forest Hill; and four grandchildren. In addition to his father, he was predeceased by one brother, Earl R. Hipley, Jr.

Services were held in McComas Funeral Home, P.A., Bel Air on Wednesday, October 9, 2002 at 12 noon with Rev. Eric W. Evers officiating. Interment was in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Virginia on Wednesday, October 23, 2002 at 11 a.m.
