Jeannie E. Reed (Nee Hilditch)

Jeannie E. Reed (Nee Hilditch), age 84, a beloved resident of Rising Sun, Maryland, peacefully passed away on February 6, 2024 at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air, Maryland. Born in Rocks, Maryland, she was the cherished daughter of the late Ralph and Agnes (Bosley) Hilditch and the devoted wife of the late E. Hugo Reed.

Jeannie had a rich and fulfilling life, marked by her dedication to her work and her passions. She will be fondly remembered for her years of service at Rising Run Donut Shop and Woolworths off Main Street in Bel Air. Additionally, Jeannie played an integral role at JLR Waste, a family-owned garbage company, where she contributed her talents for several years. Her commitment and hard work left an indelible mark on those around her.

Beyond her professional endeavors, Jeannie found joy in simple pleasures. She had an ardent love for baseball and was a devoted fan of the Orioles. In her leisure time, she found solace in crocheting and knitting, creating beautiful works of art that will be cherished by her loved ones for generations. An avid reader, she found comfort and enrichment in the pages of her favorite books, fostering a lifelong passion for learning and discovery. 

She is survived by her brother, Ralph (Joan) Hilditch of Rising Sun; nephews, Jeremy Hilditch and Stephen Hilditch; nieces, Emalie (Chad) Hartman, and Angela Hilditch.
