Jeanne Louise Lewis, age 84, of Bel Air, Maryland, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 3, 2025. Born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Jack Edward Dickerson and the late Lillian Anna (Gately) Davis. She was the beloved wife of the late Neil Duane Lewis.
Jeanne was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She is survived by her children: son Robert Snyder, Jr. and daughters Diane Snyder, Sandra Snyder, and Janet Baldridge. She was the cherished grandmother of Jessica Smythe and Scott Snyder, and great-grandmother of Falyn Snyder and Zachary Smythe. She is also survived by her loving sister Cheryl Sturla, and nieces Terri Joneckis and Susan Sturla; great niece Caroline Joneckis and great nephew Evan Joneckis.
A devoted Catholic, Jeanne was a long-time parishioner of Saint Ignatius Catholic Church in Hickory, Maryland. She attended Seton High School in Baltimore and later earned her realtor’s license, ultimately pursuing a successful career as a branch manager in the mortgage title industry where she devoted many years.
Jeanne moved to Bel Air in the summer of 1983, where she built a life filled with love, laughter, and meaningful relationships. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life—cherishing family events, holidays (especially Christmas), the beach, daisy flowers, Italian food, wine, steamed and soft-shell crabs, and all things Disney, especially Donald Duck. Jeanne had a deep love for animals, especially her furry grandbabies: Murphy, Winston, Oscar, and George.
Her family was her world, and her legacy of warmth, generosity, and unwavering devotion will live on through all who knew and loved her. Jeanne Louise Lewis will be remembered always for her strength, her heart, and her enduring love for her family and faith.
