On Thursday, June 5, 1941, the Queen of Carnival, better known as my mother, was born in San Juan, Port of Spain, on the island of Trinidad.

She is one of 10 original brothers and sisters, of which only two siblings remain, that shared a small home @ 100 Saddle Road.

She initially came to New York City and would eventually migrate to Maryland State and raise her children in a small town in Harford County amongst the coolest people and families on planet Earth.

Our mother was a baptized, dedicated Jehovah’s Witness who loved to design her own fashion and dress classy for the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses. My mother always put God first, and anyone who knew her would tell you the same.

Jan Green had hot island blood, loved spicy food, she swam like a fish, she loved the ocean, and is known as the neighborhood mom that would pray, preach, and love anybody she came in contact with.

She’s especially known for taking in homeless people, helping people with car rides to work, public assistance, and especially the Kingdom Hall.

No one on planet Earth can cook Roti like hers, and this world has said so long, for now, to one of (alongside everyone else here’s) the greatest mom/grand mom/great grandmother.

If you knew her, you now understand why everyone here was able to dress classy and yet simple. She was a free spirit with a positive zest for life, she was musical, and always carried love and a song in her heart.

We were all inspired by the fact that she was never too old to learn and love.

She always looked forward to a paradise and being with each and every person she had the pleasure of preaching to, whether at the laundry mat in Edgewood, Food Lion, Popeyes, or in the Hawaiian Islands.

Needless to say, she has forever emblazoned a trail of godliness and love for Almighty God and her neighbor.

We love you to eternity, and we all look forward to the most lit party in heaven with you. We love you.
