Obituary

JC Mullins, 84, of Edgewood, Maryland, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 20, 2026. Born in Wise, Virginia, he was the son of the late Darwin and Ota Mullins.

JC came to Maryland after graduating from Jenkins High School in Kentucky. After serving in the United States Army, he worked for Esskay, Westinghouse, and IAM National. He was a member of Edgewood Baptist Church for many years and had a great love for his family and neighbors.

JC was married for 55 years to his beloved wife, Mabel “Mickey” Cunningham of West Virginia, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by 10 other siblings.

He is survived by his daughters, Jeana (Andrew) Essery and Tracy (Jason) Phass; grandchildren, Tyler (Holly) Phass, Kyle (Morgan) Phass, Hunter Phass, Colton (Ola) Phass, and Rebekah (Josh) Walker; great-grandchildren, Arlo Phass, Rhett Walker, Cyprian Phass, Felix Phass, Solome’ Phass, Naomi Phass, Evelyn Phass, and Janie Walker; and his brother, Michael Mullins.

JC was a huge Orioles and Ravens fan and especially loved his beloved Colts. Above all, he cherished his family, friends, and neighbors, and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
