Jayden "Jay" Nathaniel Bernard

January 22, 2010 — November 4, 2025

Jayden “Jay” Nathaniel Bernard, age 15, of Aberdeen, Maryland, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, in Aberdeen. He was born in San Antonio, Texas, to his loving parents, Natasha Shontain Horton, and Richard R Bernard.

Jayden was a loving and happy boy whose smile, especially with his dimples, could light up any room. His cheerful personality and kind heart touched everyone he met. A true social butterfly, Jayden was known for his warmth, humor, and his ability to make friends wherever he went. He deeply loved his family and his many friends at Aberdeen High School, where he was a bright and intelligent student. His favorite subject was science, and he excelled academically. Jayden had a special bond with his bus driver, Mr. Tim, and Ms. Melinda, and cherished their daily rides to school.

Jayden loved singing, drawing, and all forms of art. Christmas was his favorite holiday, and he looked forward to it with great excitement each year. In his free time, he enjoyed playing PlayStation, especially Madden NFL and Fortnite. He had a big heart for animals—especially dogs—and dreamed of one day driving his favorite car, a green Lamborghini. Jayden aspired to become a police officer so he could protect and help those he loved. Even through the challenges of living with Prader-Willi Syndrome, Jayden remained incredibly strong, loving, and kind. His courage and positivity inspired everyone around him.

Jayden is survived by his devoted siblings, Desjameber (Devan), Jordan (Braxton), and Dominic; his grandparents, the late Mable Harris and Greg Harris, Debora Bernard, and Michael Bernard; and his beloved nieces, Anastasia and Xaliah. Jayden’s brother was his best friend, and he shared an unbreakable bond with all his siblings and loved ones. His joyful spirit and loving heart will forever be remembered by all who knew him.

In Jayden’s memory, contributions may be made to the Prader-Willi Syndrome Foundation at https://www.pwsausa.org.
