Janice "Jean" R. Dean

Janice Rozella Dean, age 87, of Joppa, MD, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 26, 2025. Born in Bel Air, MD, she was the daughter of the late Beatrice Attie (Caudill) Spicer and the late Arlie Washington Spicer. She was the beloved wife of the late Marvin Odell Dean, with whom she shared 46 years of marriage.

Janice found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved reading, working word finds and crosswords, feeding the birds, and spending her afternoons watching her favorite soap operas.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Dean; her parents, Beatrice and Arlie Spicer; her brothers, Joe Spicer and Samuel “Buddy” Spicer; and her sisters, Irene Choate and Reva Christian.

Janice is survived by her son, Ken Dean and his wife Leslie; her grandchildren, Brandon Dean and his wife Krystan, Mitchell Millan, and Peyton Dean; And her great-grandchildren, Ace Millan, Presley Dean, and Hank Dean.
