Jane Elizabeth Richardson, age 79, of Bel Air, Maryland, passed away on Sunday, February 1, 2026.

Born in Meyersdale, Pennsylvania, Jane was the daughter of the late Robert Perry Custer, Sr. and Rose Ann (Nider) Custer.

In addition to her parents, Jane was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Custer, Jr.; her loving companion, Frank Dixon, and her brother-in-law, Lee Bull, Sr.

She is survived by her children, Phillip Tolliver and his wife Tina, John Richardson and his wife Angelina, Michael Richardson, and Michelle Taylor and her husband Greg. Jane is also survived by her sister, Kay Bull. She was a cherished grandmother to John Jr., Robert, Christina, Tyler, Phillip Jr., Nathan, Lindsey, Jocelyn, Madison, Benjamin, and Alexander.

Jane was employed for 32 years at Aberdeen Proving Ground, working with the Directorate of Law Enforcement and Security.

Jane and Frank were proud “snowbirds” who spent their winters at their Florida home. Together, they enjoyed fishing at Rodman Dam, trips to the Hard Rock Casino, attending horse and greyhound races, and holding season tickets to the Daytona 500. Jane was an avid reader and also enjoyed gardening, fishing, visiting casinos, and attending NASCAR races.
