Jane Carroll White

Jane Carroll White, age 74, of Joppa, MD passed away peacefully on February 28, 2014 at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air, MD surrounded by her loving family. Born in Durham, NC, she was the daughter of the late Hardy Abram and Mary Helen Bailey Carroll. She attended Guilford College and Duke University obtaining a Master's degree in mathematics. She then taught at The University of North Carolina at Greensboro. After marrying Kevin they moved to Maryland where she began teaching at Goucher College. Jane later began her career as a Systems Analyst in the college's business department. Upon retiring after 35 years from Goucher College, she was a volunteer tax consultant for the AARP. Jane enjoyed reading as evidenced by her 40-year membership in her local book club. During retirement she traveled extensively internationally with her husband and close friends and spent time with her beloved grandchildren. She was a longtime and active member of Salem United Methodist Church where she lived out her faith.

Jane is lovingly remembered by her husband of 48 years, Kevin J. White; son, Brian Kevin White of Aberdeen; daughters, Hilary Carroll Coakley of Richmond, VA and Alison White Bartleman of Bethesda; her four dear grandchildren and many relatives and friends. Her life was rich with friends and family who adored her. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers, John, Hardy, Edwin and Charles Carroll; and her half-sister, Bertie Carroll, who welcomed her into Heaven.
