Jane Barker

October 18, 1943 — November 28, 2025

Bel Air

Jane Barker, age 82, passed away on Friday, November 28, 2025, at her home in Bel Air, Maryland. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Esther Mae (White) Fleishman and the late William Jacob Fleishman. She was the beloved wife of the late Dewey Richard Barker.

She is survived by her daughters, Natalie Eberius and her husband Bill Eberius, and Amy Willig and her husband Jeff Willig; her grandchildren, David Eberius, Rachel Blatnick and her husband Brandon Blatnick, Adam Eberius and his fiancé Amelia Stone, Megan Eberius and her fiancé David Murawski, and Francisco Cummings; and her great-grandchild, Jane Blatnick. She is also survived by her siblings, William Fleishman (Mary), June Hoffman, and Nancy Harper; her sister-in-law Betty Hollrah; many nieces and nephews; and her kindred great-grandchildren, Alexandria Willig, Gabe Willig, and Kansas Testerman. Her children and grandchildren brought her endless joy, and she had immense pride in their accomplishments and milestones in life.

Jane’s faith was always a cornerstone of her life, and she devoted much of her time and energy to Mountain Christian Church. She was excited to learn that the site of the new Mountain Christian Parkville Campus would be the old neighborhood movie theater where she had many fond childhood memories. Her love of serving others extended to her friends and family as she was always eager to host any sort of party or gathering including showers, a wedding, graduation parties, church dinners, church meetings, and many many more.

A lifelong Marylander, Jane loved her home-state teams. She was a devoted fan of the Baltimore Orioles and the Maryland Terps, cheering passionately for them every week. She lived much of her life on the water and loved the peacefulness it brought her. Jane proudly served as a nurse for 15 years, working at both Sinai Hospital and Franklin Square Hospital as a dedicated labor and delivery nurse. After nursing she transitioned to a career in real estate. Her dedication to going the extra mile earned her not only lifelong clients but treasured friends.

Known for her striking red hair, Jane possessed a feisty spirit to match. She was exceptionally organized, a meticulous planner, and someone who always got things done, living out her favorite motto: “Just do it.” Above all, she was deeply involved in the lives of her children and grandchildren, creating a legacy of love, strength, and unwavering support that extended to their friends, family, and beyond. She reveled in the fact that she often knew things about their lives before her daughters.

It was her heartfelt wish that any contributions be made toward the development of the new Mountain Christian Church Parkville Campus or to Amedisys home health care.

Her memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved her.
