James "Jim" F. Towle, Sr.

June 6, 1950 — July 10, 2025

James Frederick Towle Sr., age 75, of Joppa, Maryland, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 10, 2025. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, he was the cherished son of the late Samuel F. Towle and Ida Jean (Beauchamp) Towle.

Mr. Towle is survived by his beloved children: his son James Towle Jr. and his twin daughters Jessica Towle and Nichole Towle. He was a proud grandfather to Olivia, Brandon, Cooper, Caiden, and Jackson and a devoted great-grandfather to his beloved great-granddaughter, Harlow. He is also survived by his dear siblings: Cheryl Towle, Ron Towle, and Linda Towle.

In addition, he is remembered with love by his cherished companion, Becky & his work-wife Angela. As well as the mothers of his children, Pamela and Judy, with whom he shared meaningful chapters of his life.

Affectionately known as “Stove Pipe” by his closest friends, Mr. Towle was a self-employed carpenter whose work was a true reflection of his personality—meticulous, precise, and enduring. Often referring to himself as a “one-man show,” he took great pride in his craftsmanship and held a strong belief that dedication and attention to detail spoke louder than words.

A man of few words but deep presence, Jim found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He especially treasured the time spent at his favorite local pub(s) where he enjoyed the company of friends and a well-earned cold beer. Though he could be stubborn at times, his family lovingly referred to him as an “Iron-Coated Marshmallow”—resilient and strong-willed, yet unfailingly kind, generous, and full of heart.

James was also a devoted animal lover and shared a deep bond with his beloved cat, Rosey, who brought him companionship and comfort in his later years.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, an organization close to their hearts.
