James "Jim" E. Bohdel, Sr.

James "Jim" E. Bohdel, Sr., age 90, of Forest Hill, Maryland passed away on April 15, 2022 at Hart Heritage Estates in Street, Maryland. Born in Chicago, Illinois, he was the son of the late James and Elsie (Sirovy) Bohdel, and husband of Shirley Bohdel. 

Jim served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He worked for Western Electric for 34 years before he retired in 1985.  After retirement he enjoyed working for the John Archer School driving a school bus. Family and faith were the most important parts of Jim’s life. He was an active member of St. Ignatius Catholic Church and enjoyed traveling with his wife and spending time with his many friends at the Jacksonville Senior Center.     

Jim is survived by his wife of 67 years, Shirley Bohdel; sons, Jerry Bohdel, Sr. and his wife Linda; Rick Bohdel and his wife Wendy; daughter, Diane Plummer and her husband Ron; sisters, Dolores Plumer and Joyce Letke; daughter in law, Janet Bohdel; thirteen grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, James "Jim" E. Bohdel, Jr.
