James J. Cashour

James Joseph Cashour, lovingly known as Jay, JJ, or Jim, age 52, of Bel Air, Maryland, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, July 3, 2026.

Born in Baltimore, Maryland, James was the beloved son of Margaret (Lloyd) Cashour and the late Clarence William Cashour, III. He was the devoted husband of Eileen S. Cashour, née Schneider and father to David Cashour. Together they shared a loving marriage of 14 years, celebrating their anniversary on June 2nd.

James was a hardworking and dedicated man who took great pride in every job he held throughout his life. At the time of his passing, he was employed at the Royal Farms in Forest Hill, where he was known for his strong work ethic and friendly (sarcastic) personality. Earlier in his career, he worked as a Protected Species Observer and field lead for offshore hydroacoustic monitoring operations for an environmental company that monitored wildlife in and around oil rigs. In his twenties, he served as a manager at multiple restaurants. He always excelled at every job he held.

Raised in the Glen Rock, Pennsylvania area, James graduated from Susquehannock High School, where he was an active member of the band and choir, including marching band where he was the drum major. He and his family were also active in community theater and Jay starred in multiple shows throughout high school. Jay shared his love of music throughout his life and loved to support his son and nephew in their music and acting endeavors which gave him great joy.

Above all else, James cherished his family. He loved spending time with his wife, Eileen, and his son, David, who was the center of his world. He was a devoted father who enjoyed serving as a youth assistant baseball and basketball coach and took immense pride in cheering on David at his sporting events. His love, encouragement, and unwavering support created countless treasured memories for his family.

James was preceded in death by his father, Clarence William Cashour, III; father-in-law Robert Schneider and brother-in-law, Carl Schneider.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Eileen S. Cashour; son, David C. Cashour; mother, Margaret Lloyd Cashour; brothers, Clarence “Bill” (Courtney) Cashour IV, Charles Cashour; nephew, Clarence William Cashour V; his niece, Serena Greene; his aunt, Mary Lou (Leroy) Arvin; mother-in-law Lynne Schneider; brother-in-law Mark Schneider; sister-in-law Janette (Dan) Greene and many other loving relatives and friends who will miss him dearly.
