Ira H. Welsh, Jr.

Ira H. Welsh Jr., 89, of Forest Hill, Maryland, passed away on March 29, 2025, at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air, Maryland. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, he was the son of the late Ira and Marie (Weidyener) Welsh and the loving husband of Cecelia Marquard Welsh for nearly 70 years.

Ira was a dedicated member of the BGE Employee Club and was actively involved with the Maryland Softball Association. He was an avid sports fan, with a deep love for golfing and playing softball throughout his life. Ira also enjoyed watching any sports, both on TV and in person, especially his beloved Baltimore Orioles.

In addition to his wife, Ira is survived by his daughter, Kathy Beck, son in law Larry Beck; two grandchildren, Derek Hardesty and wife Amy, Jason Hardesty and wife Shannon; five great grandchildren, Hudson Hardesty, Jocelyn Hardesty, Hadley Hardesty, Sterling Hardesty, Henry Hardesty and brother, Gordon Welsh.

In addition to his parents, Ira was preceded in death by his brother, Kenneth Welsh.
