Hermelinda Resto-Gonzalez

Hermelinda Resto-Gonzalez, age 71, of Bel Air, Maryland, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 22, 2026, surrounded by love.

Born in Puerto Rico, Hermelinda was the beloved daughter of Rafael Resto-Hernandez and Maria T. Gonzalez, both of whom preceded her in death. One of sixteen children, she grew up deeply rooted in family. An upbringing that shaped her lifelong resilience, compassion, and devotion to those she loved.

Hermelinda found joy in life’s simple and meaningful moments. She loved sewing, cooking, and spending hours browsing antique stores, always appreciating the beauty and stories found in small, forgotten things. Above all, she treasured time with her grandchildren, who were truly the light of her life. She loved her children with her whole heart and carried them with her always, offering quiet support, unconditional love, and a steady presence they could depend on.

She was also a devoted pet companion and found great comfort in the company of her two beloved cats, Jack and Raining.

Hermelinda is survived by her loving children, Yashira Moran, Javier Hernandez, and Keila Hernandez-Colon; her cherished son-in-law, Jheury Moran; and her treasured grandchildren, Ayden Moran, Alaia Moran, Alexander Colon, Catalia Colon, and Lara Colon, who will forever carry her love, lessons, and memory in their hearts.

Hermelinda will be remembered for her warmth, creativity, deep love of family, and the quiet strength she carried throughout her life. Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched, the traditions she shared, and the love she so generously gave.
