Herbert Dews

Herbert Dews, age 77, of Abingdon, MD, died suddenly on July 8, 2011. Born in Galdys, VA, he was the son of the late Deacon Golie Ralph Dews and Katie Clark Dews, and husband of the late Constance Jackson Dews. A career Veteran of the U.S. Army he was a member of the American Legion and lifetime member of the VFW, Aberdeen. He worked at Aberdeen Proving Grounds where he was a Master Instructor at the Ordnance School.

Mr. Dews is survived by his sons, Kenneth Dews of TX, Dr. Frank Jackson, MD, Julian E. Dews, Teddy Pollard, Stanley Pollard, and Leslie Pollard all of California; daughters, Deborah Jackson-Clark, FL and Alice Dews of CA. Brother, Jerry Dews of NY; sisters, Katherine Dews-Russell and Estelle Dews both of New York; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by his son Ronnie Dews and daughters, Constance Jackson and Donna Wooden.
