Helen Mae (Crocken) Beaver Meushaw, age 99, of Abingdon, Maryland, went home to be with the Lord on September 20, 2026 at her home surrounded by her family.

Born on July 19, 1927 in Baltimore, Maryland, she was the beloved daughter of the late Nelson and Eva (Cole) Crocken.

In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her brother Nelson (Margaret) Crocken and sister Gloria (Leonard) Garrish.

She is survived by one sister, Charlene Garns of Hagerstown, MD.

Helen was the beloved wife of the late Lawrence Beaver Sr. for 48 years and the late William Meushaw for 10 years.

Above all, Helen’s faith and her family were the most important things in her life. Surviving are her four children, Carolyn (Bill) Strain of Red Lion, PA, Nancy Crain of Abingdon, MD, Diane Facello of Dundalk, MD and Lawrence (Connie) Beaver Jr. of Bel Air, MD;

And predeceased by son-in-law’s, Kenny Facello Sr. and Donald Crain.

She was the proud grandmother of 12 grandchildren; Diane (Greg) Arrowood, Kenny (Beth) Facello Jr., Michelle Strain, Rachel (Brent) Cicero, Kari (Michael) Cimino, Maria DiAngelo, Kim Rosenberg, Andrew Strain, Michael (Shena) DiAngelo, Joshua (Danielle) Strain, Justin (Dana) Beaver and Ryan (Esmie) Beaver;

28 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren.

Helen first worked for a short time at Baltimore Sales Book with her husband Lawrence but later became a stay-at-home wife and mom. Helen loved anytime she could be with her family. She enjoyed taking trips to Lancaster, Ocean City, Knoebels and Florida.

Helen and Lawrence had several RV’s and enjoyed camping often. They took their RV to Florida as snowbirds for many years.

One of her greatest joys was spending time with her grandchildren. When some of the grandkids were younger, Pop Pop/Mom Mom would take them to Hagerstown State Park for a picnic, McDonald’s and camping in their RV to Morris Meadows where they had a permanent site for a few years.

Helen’s favorite hobby was bowling in her earlier years. Helen and Lawrence played in a church league back in the day. She also loved to roller skate. Playing dominoes was her favorite game to play. Anytime her family wanted to play, she was up for the challenge.

Helen was a faithful prayer warrior. She prayed for her family and others every day. When she was able to, she would kneel down beside her bed each night and bring them before the Lord. She loved the Word of God and read it daily even though her eyesight wasn’t always the best with macular degeneration.

She also enjoyed watching the SBN (Jimmy Swaggart) programs on TV since she was no longer able to attend church anymore.
