Helen Marie Ferguson, 87, of Forest Hill, Maryland, passed away peacefully on April 14, 2026, at the Senator Bob Hooper House, following health complications related to Alzheimer’s disease. Born in Grundy, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Bascom Ratliff and Glady Ratliff (née Stiltner). Helen was a loving wife and cherished companion to Thomas David Ferguson, Sr. Their life together was marked by a shared love of travel, deep devotion, and enduring faith.

Family was at the heart of Helen’s life. She was a devoted wife, mother, stepmother, and grandmother who found great joy in caring for those she loved. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were a constant source of happiness and pride.

In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her first husband, Bobbie Gill; her sisters, Loretta, Vivian, and Ola; and her brothers, Lee Allen, Leon, and Everett.

She is survived by her husband, Thomas David Ferguson, Sr.; her daughter, Alicia Gill Palmer; her son, Charles Robert Gill; her stepson, Thomas David Ferguson, Jr. and his wife, Shirley; and her stepson, Christopher Scott Ferguson and his wife, Kathy. She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
