Harry Naumann, age 84, passed away peacefully with his family on September 29, 2013 at his home in Forest Hill, MD. Born in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late Henry J. and Ella Doerer Naumann.
When he was sixteen years old, he began working for the C&P Telephone Company, now Verizon, as a temporary frame hop. That temporary job lasted 40 years. Harry worked at many different jobs ranging from an old panel office to the fourA office and watts service. Soon after that, he became vice president of Local Union 2101 and then went into a management position. He maintained this job until the end of his career.
Harry had a great sense of humor and loved telling stories, some of his experiences along the way. In 1984, he retired to pursue his love of golf in the warm weather of South Carolina. Pinochle and horse racing were his other interests. His volunteerism for the Joppatowne Lions Club included a secretarial job and head of the Sight Committee. He and his wife, Tina, enjoyed their retirement traveling.
Mr. Naumann is survived by his wife of 43 years, Justine "Tina" F. Naumann; sons, Michael (Phyllis) Naumann of Phoenix and Kenneth (Lisa) Naumann of Perry Hall; daughters, Susan Braun and fiancé, Richard Benke, of Street and Patricia Kearney of Joppa; brothers, Richard Naumann of Baltimore and Robert Naumann of Westminster; sisters, Dolores Nelson of White Marsh and Dorothy Elliott of Ocean City; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Alzheimers Disease Association, 1850 York Road, Suite D, Timonium, MD 21093-5142 or alz.org.
