Obituary

Harlen Edward “Eddie” Osborne, Jr., age 75, of Edgewood, Maryland, passed away at home on Tuesday, November 3, 2026. Born in Tazewell, Virginia, he was the son of the late Harlen Edward Osborne, Sr. and Corrine Mae (Maxfield) Earls.

Eddie was a devoted husband, father, and family man who found his greatest happiness in life's simple pleasures. He shared 49 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Joyce Ann Osborne. Family was especially important to Eddie, and he cherished time spent with his loved ones, particularly during family cookouts filled with laughter and treasured memories.

A man of many interests and talents, Eddie had a passion for woodworking and gardening. He enjoyed working with his hands and took great pride in his projects. Some of his favorite moments were spent alongside his son, John, working together on plastic models and exploring the creativity of 3D printing. Eddie also had a lifelong appreciation for science fiction, especially the original Star Trek television series, as well as science fiction movies and classic westerns.

Eddie had a special love for dogs, particularly the many faithful companions who shared his life over the years. Their unconditional love and loyal companionship brought him tremendous happiness, and each held a special place in his heart.

Above all, Eddie will be remembered for his love of family, his creative spirit, and the joy he found in spending time with those closest to him. Whether tending to his garden, working on a new project, or simply enjoying the company of family and his beloved dogs, Eddie appreciated the moments that made life meaningful.

In addition to his loving wife, Joyce Ann Osborne, Eddie is survived by his son, John Osborne; his brothers, James Osborne and Timothy Osborne; his sister-in-law, Ruth Reichert; his aunt, Belinda Maxfield; his cousins, Beverly Dellecese and Thomas Ritchie Maxfield, Jr.; and many additional cousins throughout Maryland and Virginia.

Reverend Dathan Jones of Westcliffe, Colorado, will officiate the service.

Eddie's memory will be a blessing, and live on through the love he shared, the projects he created, and the countless cherished moments spent with family and friends. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
