Glenda Jean Shaver, age 79, of Joppa, Maryland, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 25, 2025. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, she was the beloved daughter of the late Glenmore Proffitt and Bertha Mae (Burton) Proffitt.
Glenda was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 52 years, Robert Lee Shaver. Together, they built a life centered around love, laughter, and family.
She is survived by her loving children: Jeffrey (Faith) Shaver and Melanie (Robert) Shaver; her cherished grandchildren: Jamee Shaver, Jordan Shaver, Noah Shaver, Aubree Mason, and Preston Williams; and her adored great-grandchildren: Hope Williams, Ethan Williams, Brayden Gonzalez, Kai Gonzalez, and Christopher Watson.

Glenda was a warm, lively presence who brought joy to everyone around her. She was a proud member of a bowling league in Edgewood and rarely missed a bingo night. She especially loved cheering on her grandchildren at their sporting events, always beaming with pride. One of her greatest joys was taking her grandkids to Disney World, creating memories they will always cherish.
Known for her humor and spirit, Glenda had a unique fondness for rooster-themed gifts, often exclaiming with a grin, “Look at my new cock!” She loved cooking for her family, with favorites like her homemade chicken and dumplings and stuffed green peppers. Glenda loved watching the Hallmark Channel. She found comfort in her animals—her two cats, Cupcake and Snow White, and her dog, Bear.
Glenda also enjoyed spending quiet evenings watching her favorite shows, Little House on the Prairie and The Waltons. Her legacy is one of unconditional love, family devotion, and an infectious zest for life.
