Giuseppa "Josie" Falkenstein, age 87, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 26, 2026, in Forest Hill, Maryland. She was the beloved wife of the late Edward Richard Falkenstein, with whom she shared more than 36 years of marriage.

Giuseppa was the daughter of the late Paul Moncada and the late Accursia (Santangelo) Moncada. She was a devoted Catholic and attended St. Vincent’s in Wheeling, West Virginia.

Giuseppa was a very family-focused woman and an amazing homemaker. She loved cooking and baking, knitting, and watching The Price Is Right and Golden Girls. She cherished the time spent with her family especially her grandson Austin and will be remembered for the love and care she gave to those around her.

In addition to her husband, and parents, Giuseppa was preceded in death by her sister, Accursia Klug (Hilary), brother Raymond Moncada (Dolores) and stepdaughter, Lee Ann Whetsell.

Giuseppa is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Barnes; grandson, Austin Barnes; granddaughter, Neely (Steve) Baranski and stepdaughters- Deborah Baxter, and Roberta (Steve) Kendell. She will be deeply missed by her family and all who knew and loved her.

A service will be held on Saturday November 14, 2026, at Mt. Calvary Chapel, 1685 National Rd., Wheeling WV., 26003, at 10:00 AM.
