Gertrude Florence Dean Thompson

Gertrude Florence Dean Thompson, age 89, of Abingdon, MD, died on January 24, 2010 at Bel Air Health and Rehabilitation in Bel Air, MD. Born in Monrovia, Liberia, she was the daughter of the late David Francis Magnuss Dean and Grace Scotland Horace, and wife of the late David Y. Thompson. She had worked as a beautician and a teacher.

Mrs. Thompson is survived by her daughters, Arda Collins and Florence Gondor; son, David G. Thompson; sister, Emma Dean Cox; and numerous grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her son, Hilary R. Cooper and her daughter, Cora V. Paris.
