Gerard "Jerry" Bode

Gerard “Jerry” Bode, age 87, of Jarrettsville, Maryland, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 28, 2026.

Born in Baltimore, Maryland, Jerry was the beloved son of the late Elmer Bode and Lena Tresea (Knorr) Bode.

Jerry shared 66 wonderful years of marriage with his devoted wife, Harriet Ann (Wright) Bode. He retired in July 2006 after 35 years of dedicated service as a lithographer with Port City Press in Reisterstown.

Jerry found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He enjoyed working in his yard, taking leisurely car rides, spending cherished time with his family, and cruising. His greatest hobby was photography, capturing countless memories throughout the years. A devoted Baltimore Colts fan, Jerry faithfully supported his favorite team for many years.

In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by three sisters and four brothers.

He is lovingly survived by his wife, Harriet Bode; his children, Kevin Bode and his wife, Mary, Kim Martin and her husband, Brett, Kyle Bode, and Ken Bode and his wife, Sherry; his grandchildren, Chelsea Makarewicz, Lucas Bode, Kayden Bode, Tyler Bode, Zachary Bode, Noelle Mills, Angela Martin, and Bryce Martin; and his great-grandchildren, Levi Bode, Violet Bode, Piper Makarewicz, and Camille Makarewicz. He will also be deeply missed by many extended family members and friends.
