George F. Harrison, Jr., age 90, of Bel Air, Maryland, passed away on Sunday, January 4, 2026.
George was the beloved son of the late George Franklin Harrison, Sr. and Helen Mae (Tarring) Harrison. He was the devoted husband of Cora Harrison, with whom he shared 67 years of marriage before her passing. Their love story began on a blind date in Chicago, followed by an engagement just one month later in New York—marking the beginning of a lifelong partnership.
He is survived by his loving children, Stephen Harrison (son) and Deborah Harrison (daughter); and his cherished grandchildren, Erin Antoshak, Kelly Antoshak, Alec Harrison, Nicholas Harrison, and Emma Harrison.
A proud small business owner, George owned and operated Harrison Paint Center, Inc. He was a graduate of Bel Air High School, attended the University of Miami, and later enjoyed a distinguished career as a writer, editor, and producer for television news, including writing for Walter Cronkite. George was also one of the founding members of the Harford Democratic Club and served as President of the Harford County Historical Society.
George was an avid reader and historian, a die-hard fan of the Baltimore Ravens, Baltimore Orioles, and Miami Hurricanes, and was widely admired as an excellent father, grandfather, and community leader.
His family will be hosting a gathering of remembrance at his home on Friday January 9, 2026 from 2-6pm. For those wishing to attend and needing directions, call or text 425-870-1273. For more details, visit: https://www.facebook.com/share/p/17gAbAjKFR/
