George "Allen" Grieves, aged 79, passed away on Christmas Eve, December 24, 2023, at Franklin Square Hospital's Hospice unit. Born in Bel Air at the Fountain Green Maturity Hospital on February 16, 1944, Allen, affectionately known as a "Premmie," spent his first two months being cared for by nurses, leaving a lasting impression of being spoiled from their tender rocking.
After completing high school, Allen graduated from Strayer Business School and embarked on a career that included service at APG and the Edgewood Arsenal in the Provost Marshall's office. Following retirement, he continued his professional journey at Deco Signs in Forest Hill and later at AAI in Cockeysville, where he concluded his working years after a decade.
Allen's commitment to his community extended to his longstanding membership at Ebenezer United Methodist Church, where he had been a member since the age of 12 in 1956. He was part of the largest membership class in the church's history.
George "Allen" Grieves is survived by his sisters, Elaine (Jim) Slaughter and Lucille Ross; nephews, Michael (Eileen) VanGosen and Richard Allen; and niece, Candace (Allen) Taylor.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Ebenezer United Methodist Church, General Fund, 3345 Charles Street, Fallston, MD 21047.
