Gary L. McNeish (Ret. SGM US Army)

Gary Lee McNeish, age 79, passed away on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, in Bel Air, Maryland. Born in Zanesville, Ohio, Gary was the son of the late Donald Robert McNeish, Jr. and the late Beatrice Elaine (Sharren) McNeish.

Gary proudly served his country in the United States Army for over 26 years and retired at the distinguished rank of Sergeant Major in 1992. His service, leadership, and dedication to his fellow soldiers were hallmarks of a long and honorable military career.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Cynthia Lou (Murray) McNeish.

Gary is survived by his children, Julie Barmer and her husband, Josh; Chad McNeish and his wife, Monica; and Cody McNeish and his wife, Rachael. He is also survived by his brothers, Bobby McNeish, Jr., and Pat McNeish and his wife, Jean Ann and sister in-law Kim Maziar and her husband. He is further survived by Jery Dennison and his wife, Marsha; Jery was like a son to him. Additional surviving family members include many loving nieces and nephews.

Gary was blessed with 10 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Grandchildren are Jessica (Tyler), Maurice (Simona), Julian, Jordan, Olivia, Sofia, Laila, Chloe, Mya, and Zoe. The great-grandchildren are Aniya, Levi, Mila, Ary, and Neko. They all had a very special place in his heart and meant the world to him.

Gary will be remembered for his strength, devotion to family, and unwavering love for those closest to him. His legacy of service, loyalty, and kindness will live on in all who knew and loved him.
