Fred Charles Frantz
Fred Charles Frantz, age 84, of Joppa, Maryland, passed away peacefully on April 26, 2025. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, Fred was the devoted husband of 58 years to the late Agnes Vanessa Frantz. A beloved husband, father, and grandfather, Fred's life was centered around his family—his greatest joy and proudest accomplishment.
Fred was a man of unwavering dedication, who never missed a game, a gathering, or a moment to support the ones he loved. Whether it was cheering from the sidelines at his son’s and grandsons’ sporting events or spending Sundays at Ravens games with his son Wayne—season tickets in hand—Fred cherished every opportunity to be together.
A true jack-of-all-trades, Fred’s hands could fix anything. He was known among family and friends as the go-to man for mechanical work, home repairs, and engine rebuilds. He approached each task with skill, patience, and a smile—traits that defined him in every part of life.
Fred’s passions were as varied as they were deep: he was a lover of newspapers, reading daily editions of the Washington Post, The Baltimore Sun, and others with an insatiable curiosity. A devoted fan of the Ravens and Orioles, he also found joy in classic car shows, feeding the birds that visited his porch, and sharing his home with beloved dogs and cats who were treated as part of the family.
A proud veteran of the Korean War, Fred honored his service by collecting and respectfully displaying flags from countries around the world—a hobby rooted in respect and remembrance.
Fred was a man known for his warmth, kindness, and signature phrases—walking into a room with a bright “The gang’s all here!” or greeting the day with “Another beautiful day.” These simple, sincere expressions of joy and connection were just part of what made him unforgettable.
Fred leaves behind a legacy of love, loyalty, and laughter. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Fred is survived by his son, Wayne Frantz, grandchildren, Tyler Frantz, and Wyatt Frantz.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
