Franklin W. Hughes, Sr.

Franklin W. Hughes, Sr., age 79, of Jarrettsville, Maryland, passed on June 26, 2024. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, Frank is survived by his loving wife, Sandra (nee Donald); his daughter, Jennifer Daughton; and his grandson, Malcolm Daughton. He was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Franklin Hughes, Jr., and his brothers, Thomas Hughes and Bill Hughes. Frank was a proud veteran of the U.S. National Guard and was a member of Bethel Presbyterian Church. He also enjoyed his fellowship with the Elks Club in Towson, MD. Franklin loved his work and took great pride in the ownership and workings of the Holiday House Bar and Restaurant located in Baltimore City. Upon retirement, Frank enjoyed watching the Orioles games, and the occasional cigar on the back deck. He had a deep love for football, having played the sport in college and continuing to play in his 40’s. Frank was a life-long member of his fraternity, AEX. Family and friends will honor and celebrate Frank’s life at Bethel Presbyterian Church – 4135 Norrisville Road, Whitehall, MD 21161 on July 27th at 11am.
