Frank Brown Smith, Jr., age 98, passed away on Thursday, September 3, 2026, in Towson, Maryland. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, he was the son of the late Frank Brown Smith, Sr. and Lizetta (Yost) Smith and the devoted husband of the late Catherine Jacqueline (Adkins) Smith.

Frank was a proud graduate of Baltimore City College, Class of 1946. He continued his education at the University of Baltimore, graduating in 1952. He went on to spend his entire career with General Motors.

As a veteran of the United States Navy, Frank carried a strong sense of dedication and service throughout his life. Above all, he was a devoted husband and father who cherished his family. He had a love for sailing and traveling and enjoyed the many experiences and memories these passions brought him over the years.

Faith was also an important part of Frank’s life. He was always active in his church, Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Churchville, Maryland, where he found fellowship and a meaningful connection to his faith community.

Frank is survived by his daughters, Cheryl L. (Bob) Hoopert, Terry E. (Bill) Sangtinette, and Catherine (Cathy) A. (Tony) Giorgilli; his son, Frank Brown (Mary) Smith, III; 8 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, and beloved wife Jackie, he was preceded in death by his sister, Barbara Candela.
