Francis Joseph Ritger

Francis Joseph Ritger, of Middle River, Maryland, passed away peacefully at home on October 19, 2025. He was born in Baltimore, Maryland, to the late Francis Ritger and Catherine (Dietrich) Ritger. Francis proudly served his country as an Air Force Veteran and worked as a supervisor of installation for Baltimore Gas and Electric.

Fran loved to get away with his family at his Ocean City condo, creating precious memories. He was a Baltimore sports fan cheering on the Colts and Orioles while working at Memorial Stadium selling tickets. His most appreciated moments were when he could gather together with his whole family for special events and celebrations. Fran loved all music and was never without a radio on. In 2022 he enjoyed a trip of a lifetime to see his music idol, Elvis Presley’s home and history on his VIP tour of Graceland.

Francis was the beloved husband of Carolyn (Andrews) Ritger, with whom he shared 54 years of marriage. Meeting in elementary school and graduating high school together, they built a beautiful life full of love, laughter, and family.

He was a devoted and loving father to Heather Wojcik and her husband Michael. His grandchildren – Cody and Caitlyn Allen and Brianna, Nicole, and Mikey Wojcik – were his greatest joys. He cherished his time spent with them, especially cheering them on at sporting events, musical performances and college gymnastics. Francis is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his sister Barbara Morrison.

Francis will be remembered for his boundless love, gentle heart, and the joy he brought to all who knew him. His legacy of kindness and generosity to anyone who needed support will continue to live on through his family and friends.
