Frances Marie Potochney

Frances Marie Potochney, age 86, passed away on Saturday, November 29, 2025, in Joppa, Maryland. Born in Sunbury, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Albert James Smink and Mildred Mae (Rote) Smink, and grew up in Shamokin, PA.

Frances was the beloved wife of the late George Potochney. She will be remembered as a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend. She loved her family deeply and found joy in her dogs, shopping, and reading.

She is survived by her children, George (Jan) Potochney, Sean (Lisa) Potochney, Tanya (Joseph) Smith, and Randy (Joyce) Potochney, and her grandchildren, Arwen Potochney, Brian Potochney, Amy Potochney, Sydney Smith, and Ethan Smith.

In addition to her husband and parents, Frances was preceded in death by 3 siblings.
