Frances Carole Yates passed away peacefully on Friday, July 31, 2026 in Forest Hill, Maryland. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, she was the beloved daughter of the late Edward Alexander Aus and the late Jennie (Lucko) Aus.

In addition to her parents, Frances was preceded in death by her devoted husband, William H. Yates, and her beloved son, Matthew Yates

She is lovingly survived by her daughters, Kirsten (Scott) Brown and Kimberly Nieberlein. She was a cherished grandmother to Jessica (Travis) Hensley, Sarah Bauer, Lauren (Tyler) Martin, Justin Martin, Joshua (Kaylie) Nieberlein, Kirsten Brown, and Devon Brown, and a proud great-grandmother to Nathan Pritt.

Frances found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandson, as well as her faithful dogs, Murphy and Mr. Higgins. She treasured days at the beach and enjoyed dancing, baking—especially desserts—and sharing those treats with family and friends. She also dedicated her time to serving others through her volunteer work at Mt. Calvary Church and the American Legion Auxiliary in Ocean City, where her kindness and generosity touched many lives.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Frances' memory to the Alzheimer's Foundation.
