First Sergeant Bret W. Carlson, (Retired)

First Sergeant Bret W. Carlson, age 46, of Havre de Grace, MD, died after a long illness, on November 17, 2009, at his home. Born in Chicago, IL, he was the son of Carl and Dorothy Carlson of Ft. Myers, FL and the late Irene Schroeder Carlson.

In addition to his father, he is survived by his wife of 24 years, Amy E. Carlson and son Sean R. Carlson both of Havre de Grace, MD. In addition to his mother, he was predeceased by his brother, Curt Carlson.

Bret was a decorated veteran of Operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm and served tours in Germany and Korea. He was a Drill Sergeant for three years on APG and retired from active duty service from the 16th Ordnance Battalion in 2006. After 22 years of service, Bret was employed with SAIC in Abingdon, MD as a Logistics & Training Specialist.
