Evelyn Irene Hatcher

Evelyn Irene Hatcher, age 83, of Bel Air, MD passed away on January 23, 2016 at her home. Born in Salem, VA, she was the daughter of the late Carl Ralph Roope and Florence Nettiebelle (Comer) Roope. A lifelong resident of Harford County, she married her husband, Jack Hatcher, in 1951. She helped with her husband's business at Hatcher's Citgo until his retirement 28 years later. She loved reading, and going to car and horse races. She was also a fan of Bluegrass music and feeding wild birds.

In addition to her husband, Jack, she is survived by her daughters, Linda Fitzgerald of Forest Hill and Barbara Ortiz of Bel Air; sister, Joan Elkins of Panama City, FL; grandchildren, Jan Marie Ingoglia, Brandy Nicole Winter and Desiree Marie Ortiz; and great-grandchildren, Rylie Victoria Houser and Raelyn Brielle Winter.
