Evelyn D. Shumate

Evelyn D. Shumate, age 85, of Edgewood, MD, died on June 12, 2009 at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air, MD. Born in North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Orrin and Ola Graybeal Osborne and wife of the late Claude D. Shumate. A resident of Harford County since 1942, she enjoyed gardening, reading, and was a proud grandmother.

Mrs. Shumate is survived by her son, Stephen Shumate and his wife, Lisa, of Edgewood, MD; daughter, Donna McPartland and her husband, Jack, of Abingdon, MD; and three grandchildren, Shelby, Keith, and Brian. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her son, Freddie Shumate.

Pallbearers were George Harris, Lew Wyscarver, Keith Shumate, Steve Shumate, Paul Ostheimer, and John Jones.
