Eva L. Olinger

Eva L. Olinger, age 91, passed away on Wednesday, January 7, 2026.

She was born in Riva, Maryland, to the late John Henry Wood and the late Mary Lucille (Schwallenberg) Wood.

Eva was the beloved wife of the late Melvin Quick, Jr and Kermit Olinger.

Eva was preceded in death by her daughter, Linda Scheeler; her son, Bob Matthews; her brother, John Wood; and her sister, Madeline Fleury.

She is survived by her loving daughter, Sherrie Malmad; her grandchildren, Lauren Kellagher, Brendan Kellagher, Daniel Kellagher, and Nicholas Kellagher; her great-grandchildren, Elliot Kellagher, Henry Kellagher, and Eloise Kellagher; and her brother, Clayton Wood as well as her step-children, Glen Olinger, Stephen Olinger, Shirley Baity and Teresa Cross.

Eva was a devoted member of Union Chapel United Methodist Church. She was a homemaker who took great pride in her home and family. Known as an excellent cook, she especially enjoyed baking. Eva cherished her church community and found joy in frequenting yard sales.
