Elwood Joseph Grimm Jr., age 80, of Forest Hill, Maryland, passed away on Monday, April 6, 2026. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, he was the beloved son of the late Elwood Joseph Grimm Sr. and Imogene Cleghorne Wollett.
Joe was a proud United States Army veteran who served his country with honor. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather whose life was centered around his family. He met the love of his life, his wife Rose, when they were teenagers—it was love at first sight. They married when Rose was 18 and he was 21, and together they shared 58 beautiful years of marriage filled with love, happiness, and devotion, building a strong and close-knit family.
Family was Joe’s pride and joy. He was a devoted and loving father, and his grandchildren adored him. He cherished every moment spent with his family, whether gathered around the table enjoying a delicious meal, watching “Family Feud,” or vacationing on cruises with friends. He had a passion for sports, especially cheering on the Orioles and Ravens. In his downtime, he enjoyed watching cowboy movies. He also treasured time spent watching horse races with his brother Larry and vacationing each Summer with his sister Claudette.
Joe will be remembered as a strong, righteous, honorable, and generous man. He was humble, simple, and deeply devoted to those he loved. Even in illness, he remained fearless, never complained, and stayed grateful until the very end.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Rose; his children, Jennifer (Michael) Lynch and Joseph (Deanna) Grimm; his grandchildren, Kristopher (Amanda) Grimm, Michael (Sydney) Lynch Jr., Megan (Brian) Bolewicki, Molly (Luke) Ensor, and Madison Grimm (Ryan Jones); his great-grandchildren, Kinsley Rose Bolewicki, Macky Jean Lynch, and Liam Joseph Bolewicki; his siblings, Claudette (Ernest) Hinds and Larry Grimm; along with many extended family members and loved ones.
Joe's Celebration of Life will be held at Rockfield Manor on Sunday May 3, 2026 from 11am to 3pm.
