Elwood A. Raber, age 81, of Bel Air, MD passed away on September 19, 2014 at Bel Air Health and Rehabilitation in Bel Air. Born in Lebanon, PA, he is the son of the late Allen and Bertha Koons Raber and husband of the late Lois Jane Raber, who he married in 1958. He enlisted in the U.S. Marines Corp in 1951 where he served in the Korean War from December 1, 1951 until January 1953, the Vietnam War from August 1968-69 and in Baker Company Motor Transport Battalion where, as a truck driver, he hauled soldiers, bodies and amp rounds. He retired as a Master Sargent on June 14, 1974. He was a Chief Motor Transport and Recruiter Officer for Baltimore and was a former post commander of American Legion Post 39 in Bel Air.
Mr. Raber is survived by his son, Kevin Alan Raber and his wife, Sandra, of Gambrills; daughter, Karen Amoroso of Jarrettsville; brother, Bruce Raber and his wife, JoAnn, of Virginia Beach, VA; grandchildren, Jake and Josh Amoroso and Justin and Colby Raber; and niece and nephew, Elaine Brown and Michael Marks. He was predeceased by his sister, Jean Marks and her husband, Ralph.
