Obituary

Eleanor F. Fabiszak Dean, age 92, of Forest Hill, Maryland, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 22, 2026. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, Eleanor lived a long and vibrant life defined by her love of family, friends, and community.

She was the beloved daughter of the late Martin Joseph Schrader and the late Theresa O. (Watroba) Schrader. Eleanor was the devoted wife of the late Joseph Fabiszak. She was also preceded in death by her cherished son, the late Christopher Fabiszak, her sister, the late Patricia Baldwin.

Eleanor is survived by her loving children, Joseph Fabiszak and his wife Jessica, and Susan LaMar and her husband Pete. She was a proud and devoted grandmother to Carlee Cornell, Ava Fabiszak, and Luke Fabiszak, also survived by many loving nieces and nephews, and extended family and friends. Eleanor treasured her family deeply and delighted in every opportunity to gather, celebrate, and create lasting memories together.

A true people person, Eleanor never met a stranger. She loved visiting flea markets, where she enjoyed engaging with vendors and shoppers alike. In the 1970s, she and her best friend owned and operated a bridal dress shop, reflecting her strong entrepreneurial spirit. Later, she worked for 25 years at her son’s accounting firm, where she built meaningful relationships with clients and became a friendly, familiar face to many.

Eleanor was affectionately known as the “Mayor of the Nursing Home,” a testament to her outgoing personality and love of socializing. She was an avid fan of the Baltimore Orioles and enjoyed cheering them on. She loved spending time in Ocean City, Maryland, especially at the beach and on cruises. An animal lover at heart, Eleanor adored her sweet little Yorkies, “Solitaire” and “Bo-Bo,” who brought her endless joy.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Eleanor’s memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or St. Margaret Catholic Church.

Eleanor will be remembered for her warmth, her laughter, her gift for conversation, and the genuine joy she found in being around others. Her legacy of love, connection, and spirited independence will live on in all who knew her.
