Eileen G. Weller

June 3, 1943 — April 11, 2024

Eileen G. Weller, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home in Forest Hill, MD on April 11, 2024, at the age of 80. She was born on June 3, 1943, in Baltimore, MD, to the late Thomas and Florence (Schmidtman) Ganley and was preceded in death by her younger brother Thomas John Ganley.
Eileen's commitment to caring for others began early in her life. She graduated from Eastern High School in 1961 and went on to pursue her passion for nursing at the Sinai School of Nursing, where she graduated in 1964. It was during her time at Sinai that she met the love of her life, Nelson Weller, whom she married in 1966.
Her nursing career spanned over four decades, starting in the Emergency Department at Baltimore City Hospitals, which later became The Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center. She concluded her career after 20 years in the Department of Human Resources at The Johns Hopkins Hospital.
Outside of her professional life, Eileen was deeply involved in her community and her faith. She was a cherished member of St. Margaret Parish in Bel Air, MD for over 50 years. One of her favorite experiences was chaperoning St. Margaret Youth Group events with Nelson for their teenage daughters. She and Nelson also spent 40 years of summers with their family at their Ocean City condo where they formed lifelong friendships with their “70th Street Family”.
Eileen is survived by her devoted husband of 58 years, Nelson Weller; her loving sister Joan Stine; her daughters Susan Kutcher (John) and Leigh Ann Moran (Daniel); her grandchildren Timothy, Steven, and Joseph Kutcher, Christopher and Benjamin Roberts, and Jessica (John) Beatty and Cullen Moran; and her great-granddaughter, Lilly Beatty. She is also survived by numerous beloved nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Eileen may be made to The William J. Sacco Critical Thinking Foundation. Donations can be made online at https://www.saccofoundation.org or by mailing a check to 302 Dove Court, Forest Hill, MD 21050.
Eileen will be remembered for her great sense of humor and the way she loved to tell stories.  Most of all, she will be remembered for her proudest accomplishment, being the best mom and mom mom.
