Edward M. Francis Lejk, age 76, of Forest Hill, Maryland, passed away at home on Wednesday, December 17, 2025. Born in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late Laura Lejk (née Blaszak).
A loving husband, brother, uncle, grand uncle, and friend. He was a man of strong faith, opinions, and family loyalty.
He was a long-time employee at Bethlehem Steel rising to the level of shop steward and advocating for his fellow workers in Annapolis while completing his tasks at “The Point.” Later in life, he joined the Salvation Army rising to the level of Program Director and developing his IT skills and his devotion in the Christian faith.
Ed was always there to lend a helping hand or support to family and friends. He enjoyed the camaraderie of others as he told stories with humor and laughter. Ed loved engaging in discussions of world issues and sports.
When traveling, he depended on his co-pilot, Shirley, to keep him on track and not get lost. He enjoyed going to Pennsylvania’s Music Theater and Sight and Sound Theater. Shirley gave him the confidence to travel outside of his norm to other parts of the county to visit various locations and stomping grounds. He found great joy in constantly expanding his horizons with Shirley.
Ed was preceded in death by his mother, Laura; his sisters Pauline Lejk and Geraldine Znamirowski; brother-in-law, Francis Smidt and niece, Brenda.
He is survived by his beloved wife and friend, Shirley Lejk; sister, Maryann Smidt; brother-in-law, Raymond Znamirowski; nieces and nephews as well as grand nieces and nephews.
His loss affects all those who came to know him.
GONE BUT NOT FORGOTTEN ~ LOVED FOREVER.
