Edith Fay Wynn, age 96, of Aberdeen, Maryland passed away peacefully on November 19, 2023, at Nichols Sheltered Home for the Elderly in Edgewood, Maryland. Born September 11, 1927 in Corinne, West Virginia she was the daughter of a coal miner, the late John and Betty (Davis) Kinsley and wife of the late Hershel Wynn.

Edith and Hershel moved from Kentucky to Newark, Delaware in 1957 where she was a waitress at the Post House Restaurant on Main Street for 40 years. She was a people person who enjoyed all the interaction with the customers.  Edith was a member of Newark First Assembly of God where she had been a Board member, taught Sunday School, Children’s church and helped with many projects.  She especially enjoyed bringing her nieces and neighborhood children to church with her. She loved music and taught herself as a teen to play the guitar, which she used in all her ministry to children.  Edith was an avid reader with the Bible being her favorite book.  She enjoyed sewing, crocheting and making quilts for all her grandchildren.  Edith was also an “evangelist” in her own right as she shared the Gospel with her neighbors, customers, co-workers, and friends, winning many to the Lord!

Edith is survived by her daughters, Norma G. (Neil) Tilton, Angela M. (Roland) Coon; sister, Edna Houck.  Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who brought her much joy are grandsons, Aaron Coon, David Wynn, Daniel Wynn, and Ryan Coon; granddaughters are Lori Frebert, Renee Fishburne, and Amy Krzyzanowski.  Her great-grandchildren are Chloe, Taylor and Tyler Coon, Maielle and Ryland Fishburne, Connor and Ava Coon, and Alex and Abby Krzyzanowski, Elena Wynn and Karsyn Wynn.

In addition to her parents and husband, Edith was preceded in death by her son, E. Carl Wynn, granddaughter, Charisa Shackleford, and grandson, Gary L. Kern. Her nine Kinsley brothers, Vernon, Roy, Earl, Albert, Hunter, Jim, Dave, Harry and Jack, and her sister, Betty Price.
