Obituary

Dudley K. Hinegardner, age 76, of Abingdon, Maryland, passed away on Monday, April 27, 2026. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, he was the beloved son of the late Franklin Hinegardner and the late Naomi Elizabeth “Liz” (Kenney) Harmon.

Dudley was the devoted husband of Mary E. (Kohls) Hinegardner, with whom he shared 33 loving years of marriage as of this past March. He was a dedicated family man who cherished every moment spent with his loved ones.

In addition to his wife, Dudley is survived by his son, Sean Hinegardner, and his partner Jenn; his daughter, Kristin Hinegardner; his daughter Alicia Curry; and his brother, Rondie Hinegardner. He was a proud grandfather to Erik Moore, Logan Hinegardner, Cheyanne Crosby, Sebastian Martin, Levi Lamond, Ashlynn Hinegardner, Isiah Cox, Isabela Little-Hinegardner, Krystal Lee-Johns, and Jessica Burkham, as well as many great-grandchildren. Also, his dear friends Larry & Debbie Saylor.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Shirley Dare.

Dudley was a master carpenter who worked in commercial construction for many years across the United States. He took great pride in his craftsmanship and was known for his exceptional skill and dedication to his trade. In his spare time, he enjoyed woodworking, often creating birdhouses and wooden toys for his grandchildren, which will be treasured for generations. He also enjoyed making knives and riding his motorcycle.

A man of many friendships, Dudley had a gift for connecting with people and made friends wherever he went. He loved his family and friends deeply and was always willing to lend a helping hand. He was a devoted fan of the Baltimore Ravens and the Baltimore Orioles.

Dudley generously shared his talents with the Indian Steps Museum, where he assisted in repairing and enhancing displays alongside his dear friends, Larry and Debbie Saylor.

Dudley will be remembered for his craftsmanship, his generosity, and the deep love he held for his family and friends. His legacy lives on in the many lives he touched.
