Dorothy Ann Vogel, age 84, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 30, 2026, in Street, Maryland.

Born in Maryland, Dorothy was the beloved daughter of the late Dorothy (Muth) Siemann and Michael Siemann. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Denise Vogel; her brother, John Siemann; and her sister, Michelle Knowles.

Dorothy is survived by her loving family, including her son, James Vogel, Jr.; her cherished grandchildren, Heather (Bryan) Vogel, Nicholas (Missy) Vogel, and James Vogel, III; and her adored great-grandchildren, Cameren Malone, Chase Malone, Jasmine Dixon, Trenten Malone, MaKenzie & Caleb Baines, Scarlet, Harper Melrath and soon-to-arrive Gracelynn Vogel.

Dorothy will be remembered as a thoughtful and caring woman who devoted her life to her family. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who never forgot a birthday and always made sure to send cards for every holiday. She had a generous spirit and was known for feeding everyone who came through her door.

She was especially talented with crafts and lovingly crocheted blankets for every new baby in the family, as well as for her beloved dog, Critter. Dorothy found joy in the simple pleasures of life—feeding the birds and neighborhood cats, watching ducks at the pond, and spending time by the ocean. She also enjoyed trips to the outlets in Pennsylvania, where she delighted in people-watching. A lover of good food, she especially enjoyed steamed crabs shared with family and friends.

Dorothy’s warmth, kindness, and unwavering love for those around her will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Dorothy’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
