Dorothy E. Marcum, age 91, of Delta, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 12, 2026.
Born in Baltimore, Maryland, Dorothy was the beloved daughter of the late John Henry Thomas Hendriksen and Helen Nancy (Welsh) Hendriksen.
Dorothy shared a loving marriage of more than 55 years with her late husband, Lynn Dolan Marcum, who preceded her in death. Together they built a life centered on faith, family, and service to others.
A devoted member of North Harford Baptist Church, Dorothy was deeply committed to her faith and was actively involved in Bible study and numerous church activities throughout her life. Her love for the Lord was evident in the way she lived and cared for those around her.
Dorothy enjoyed many hobbies and interests, including quilting, sewing, bird watching, crossword puzzles, and playing Bridge. In her youth she played volleyball at Sparrows Point High School, where she also served as her class secretary. She carried the same dedication and enthusiasm into every aspect of her life.
Above all, Dorothy cherished her family. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose warmth, wisdom, and unwavering support will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Dorothy is survived by her children, Cheryl L. Pirog and her husband, Walter, Marie C. Marcum, John H. Marcum, and Daniel C. Marcum and his wife Anna-Lisa. She was the proud grandmother of Jennifer, Mary, Micah, Timothy, Julia, Caroline, Sarah, Mollie, and Benjamin, and the loving great-grandmother of Sullivan, Norah, Henry, Owen, Ruby, Maple, and August.
Dorothy’s legacy of faith, kindness, and devotion to family will live on in the hearts of those who were blessed to know and love her.
