Dorothy Frances Bell

Dorothy Frances Bell, 87, of Bel Air, Maryland, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 9, 2025. Born in Jackson, Michigan, she was the daughter of the late Hugh Jiles Hesson and Margaret (Donnelly) Hesson. She was the beloved wife of the late Gary Wimer Bell.

Dorothy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, devoted to her family and her faith. She is survived by her daughters, Jennifer (Mark) Haley and Janet (Sam) Harvin; grandchildren, Stephanie Anne, Alexandria Brianne, Riley-Jean Grace, and Fiona Erin; and great-grandchildren, Gisele Adrianna, and Remi Dylan.

Dorothy was a woman of strong Christian faith who attended Bel Air United Methodist Church, where she volunteered with the Grief Share ministry. She was devoted to reading her Bible daily and found comfort and joy in her relationship with God. Dorothy enjoyed reading, watching mystery and crime shows, and sharing her great sense of humor with everyone around her.

She had a long and accomplished career in banking, working in the International Department at Union Bank in California. Dorothy will be remembered for her kindness, nurturing spirit, love of family, and unwavering faith.
