Dorothy B. Powell

July 31, 1920 — March 29, 2004

DOROTHY B. POWELL, age 83, of Bel Air died at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center on March 29, 2004. Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Howard H. and Lura W. Brosius and the wife of the late Richard B. Powell. She had been a resident of Harford County since 1980. She taught math and science at Dumbarton Jr. High and continued her service as a guidance counselor at Towsontown Jr. High. She completed her career as a counselor at Hereford in 1982. During retirement, she volunteered at Hickory Elementary School and Fallston General Hospital and knitted baby hats for newborns at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center.

Mrs. Powell is survived by her two daughters and sons-in-law, Nancy P. and David Jones of Bel Air and Lura J. Powell and Arthur King of Richland, Washington; and four grandchildren, Christina and Steven Jones of Bel Air and Jennifer and Stephanie King of Richland, Washington.
