Dorothea Louise Hedrick

Dorothea Vannoy Hedrick, of Ellicott City, MD, died at the age of 89 on September 13, 2016 at her home. She was born in Wheeling, WV to Homer and Laura (Oesterle) Vannoy. She retired from the Federal Government after 31 years and five months of service. An avid reader and lottery participant, she loved her 1998 Ford Thunderbird.

Survivors include her sons, Robert H. Hedrick (Kathryn) of Bel Air and David P. Hedrick (Patsy) of The Villages, FL; her sister, Beatrice King (Gene) of Houston, TX; her grandchildren, Elizabeth Staigerwald (Kevin) of Bel Air, Kimberly Bartlett (Jeff) of Huntingtown, Melissa Sylvester (Sean) of Bel Air, Nick A. Hedrick of San Jose, CA, Allison K. Biller (Stephen) of Clinton, Emily M. Hedrick of Washington, DC, Madeline E. Hedrick of Newark, DE and Ryan Hedrick of Jamestown, NY; and 10 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her former husband, Robert B. Hedrick and sister, Elizabeth Gumm.
