It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Doris Bauguess Struve, who left this world on May 12, 2025, at the age of 85 to be with her Lord and Savior. Doris was born on March 26, 1940, in Street, MD, and spent her life dedicated to family, work, and her community.
Doris was a dedicated homemaker. Many years she worked as an interior decorator, including sales in the furniture business. Her most recent work prior to retirement was as an Electronic Assembler Inspector where she was respected and valued for her contributions in the government sector.
Doris enjoyed cooking for her family, especially for the Holidays. Her children fondly recall her homemade pies, delicious fudge, spaghetti, and potato salad. She was also very gifted at crafting, quilting, and sewing. When her granddaughters were young, she took a lot of joy in making them beautiful matching holiday dresses.
She was very involved in Cornerstone Missionary Baptist church. Her diligent spirit and warm nature left an indelible mark on all who were fortunate enough to know her.
A beloved mother and cherished grandmother, Doris is survived by her three sons, Douglas, Dean, and Darryl (Casandra) Struve. She found immense pride and joy in her 5 grandchildren, Morgan (Timothy) Kany, Olivia (David) Marsh, Cassie (John) D’Agostino, Benjamin (Rachel) Struve, Jackson (Jamie) Struve, and 8 great grandchildren.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents, Glen and Maudy (Mandy) Bauguess and her brother Ray Bauguess.
Contributions can be made to the Dementia Society of America.
In this time of grief, we remember Doris not just for her years, but for the love she shared and the lives she touched. She will forever remain in our hearts.
